There are many types of product recommendations, ranging from “You May Also Like” to “Shop the Look”, but none of them provide exactly what FindMine Complete the Look offers. Below are some areas to consider when looking at the landscape of solutions and comparing them to FindMine.
Stylist Perspective
Outfitting is learned from your merchandisers by the FindMine system through the use of “training outfits”. The system evolves its understanding over time, but the results are always on-brand and can follow a complex strategy of business rules.
TIP: Co-purchase data provides a noisy signal for style choices, but it is often used in other platforms to deliver “outfits”. Make sure your merchandisers can train the machine learning model in any solution you choose.
Speed, Quality, and Scale
FindMine can reach 90% product coverage in record time because every part of the system is optimized for automation. You can use our portal to create a featured outfit to override the system on a product page, but you cannot reach any sort of scale with a manual approach across your large catalog.
TIP: Low-quality outfits and/or zero coverage plague some platforms when processing new and updated products. Make sure your chosen solution doesn’t require manual intervention to perform tasks like photoshop editing product images and manual curation.
Manual Outfitting
We expect that you’ll regularly lose or forget your login to our management portal, and that’s by design. You’re buying a solution that’s meant to augment your efforts, not suck you into more work. That said, our Runway portal can be used by your merchandisers and stylists to create custom outfits and edit existing outfits that will display in lieu of our automated recommendations.
TIP: Make sure your chosen solution allows you to create and edit outfits. It’s not a frequently used feature but, it is valuable for special cases and you’ll wish you had it. (As of August 2020, FindMine is the only automated outfitting solution that we are aware of that provides this feature.)
